Tie-Dye Crop Top: Thrifted, D.I.Y.
Pinstripe Trousers: Thrifted
Shoes: Converse
When it comes to "fashion" (or whatever you want to call it.. I prefer personal style but we've been through this before), I have always, and forever will be, unconventional. I tend to gravitate toward pairing pieces that one would not normally put together, such as the pinstripe pants and tie-dye crop top displayed in this post. For me, (and I am sure for many of you as well), style is absolutely, one hundred percent an art form, and pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box is key when showcasing who you are as a person. This means that getting dressed is never boring. It's an adventure. :)
I've been super into these old man trousers lately haha. They are comfortable of course, but they also give off a vibe that says "I don't really care what you think about me" (and really other people aren't thinking about you nearly as much as you think about you anyway :P). As women we are constantly expected to dress a certain way.. wear skin tight clothing.. show off whatever we can to exude a false sense of sexuality.. conform to social norms that tell us to look girly and feminine and of course, dress to please the patriarchy :P. Don't get me wrong, I love to play the part of full on vamp from time to time (I mean duh.. my blog can attest to that), but most days I just love being the relaxed, casual, rock & roll chick that I am. This pastel tie-dye crop top (which I made myself as it was originally an over-sized blah tee-shirt) adds the perfect Susanna touch.. because of course I never completely stray from playfulness in my looks. I added the studded belt and Chuck Taylors to the outfit because honestly the two pieces are continuing guest stars in my everyday wardrobe anyway. And since I never want to be anything but real with you guys, this look is exactly who I am. Relaxed but a little sassy. Grandpa trousers and all. ;)
I hope I have sparked some inspiration today! As always thanks so much for reading, and lots of love to every single one of you. =^.^=
I feel very identifyed with the "Unconventional looks", i seriously hate all the steriotipes society has put on women, luckly a lot of us are being brave and don't give a f.. about anyone can say about our way of dressing! And ahh this outfit is so amazing <3 that trousers trend is killing me 'cause i want a pair! haha and you're rocking it with that studded belt darl <3. LOVED this post, as always, take care dear and have a nice week <3!
ReplyDeleteYeah girl! Boo on stereotypes! So glad you enjoyed this post darling. This is why I do what I do! And you should definitely get a pair of trousers. They are so fun and so comfy. <333
DeleteHaha I love the grandpa pants!! For real though, when I think of the word 'fashion' there's always some kind of idea of conformity associated with it. Being 'fashionable' seems more like adhering to some kind of current trend, and personal style is a much better term for it. Because sometimes, screw everything, we wear what we want!!!
ReplyDeleteHahaha yesss screw everything! Wear what you want! I love when people just dress for themselves because that's when personality shines through. Thanks for your comment, darlin! <333
