Happy 2016 everyone.  It feels good to be blogging only a few days after the new year.  :)  I hope you had a safe and fun time celebrating with family and friends.  My husband and I kept it warm and cozy on New Year's Eve by staying inside and playing board games and sipping sparkling wine.  Couldn't have asked for a more perfect evening.  

Anyway, on to the outfit!  I was in a particularly black mood when I put together this look, and rather than going for my typical black sweater under a jacket, I decided to play with layers and use some pieces in my wardrobe I haven't worn in awhile.  The black and white floral tunic is actually a dress, but I decided to wear it unbuttoned as a cape, with a more form fitting lace top peeking out from underneath.   But can we talk about the shoes?  I mean, c'mon.  They are an absolute dream.  I purchased them on sale from Unif.  I have never owned anything from Unif previously due to the fact that I am poor and they are expensive, so when I saw that these bad boys were a tad more affordable on my end, I grabbed them up immediately.  

I kept the rest of the outfit kinda gothic/grunge to suit my style with my ripped black skinny jeans, wide brimmed fedora and faux leather jacket.  This winter has been been extra chilly here in California so I've been having a ton of fun styling outfits accordingly.  I'm hoping I will be as inspired when Spring and Summer roll around. :)
