Shirt: House of Vintage
Leggings: Red Light Clothing Exchange
Shoes: Naked City Clothing
Hello everyone! I hope the start of the week is treating you well. <3
I cut some fringe around my face because I was feeling in a rut with my hairstyle, and I'm not so sure how I feel about it. In a few days I'll probably end up sweeping it off to the side in a frantic rage in hopes that it will grow out super fast again. I tend to do this with my hair every few months. I'm a crazy person, I know.
Anyway, about the outfit! Everything I'm wearing (with the exception of my accessories) I purchased in Portland last weekend while I was there on vacation visiting some amazing friends with my husband. Each item is from independent local to Portland businesses, and while the leggings and the shoes are new, the shirt is actually vintage from the 1980's! I wish I could say that I distressed the shirt myself with the rips and paint splatters, but I think it's kind of rad how it already came that way due to its age and how much it has been previously worn. I picture the shirt's former owner being some sort of scruffy house painter or something.. definitely someone a lot tougher and grizzlier than me. Haha who knows? I like to let my imagination set the story for my vintage and thrifted clothing sometimes. :)
I have been trying to be a little more creative with my style lately, so rather than pairing the shirt with jean shorts and creepers (don't worry, my shorts and creepers aren't going anywhere) I thought I'd try it out with these gorgeous purple velvet leggings and platform wedges. I can honestly say I never thought I'd be caught sporting an open toe wedge, but for some reason I've had a hankering for the perfect pair of retro-style platform wedges as of late. It's like I just woke up one day and decided I had to have them. Of course I had no clue where to find them, so when we went to Portland I made the hunt, with much success. I'm in love. Not only with the shoes, but with everything about this look.
Are there any items you've been wanting to add to your wardrobe that you never thought you would wear? I would love to know. Sometimes it's awesome to take chances because it helps your style evolve and flourish. Of course there is nothing wrong with staying exactly where you are, either. At least where clothes are concerned. :)
That's it for this week. I hope you enjoyed this post.. and as always thank you so much for stopping by and taking the time to read my ramblings!
Love to you all. =^.^=
